About Us

Kent Homes is a proud member of the J.D. Irving Family

The Irving family of businesses began in 1881 with a sawmill in the family’s hometown of Bouctouche, New Brunswick. The Kent Homes story began in the mid-1900s when K.C. Irving visited his logging camps and wasn’t happy with the quality of his workers living conditions. He had the idea to prebuild better homes offsite, and transport them to the logging camps. This improvement increased the morale and productivity of the workers. A visiting health inspector even said the lumber camp shelters were the best he had seen in the country.

K.C. Irving’s passion for uncompromising quality rings as true today as it did then. Kent Homes buildings are assembled in a state-of-the-art facility to meet our strict quality-control measures. Building in this setting means construction isn’t rushed or impacted by poor weather. In 1958, we began building homes with a simple idea. That homeowners deserved a better way to build their homes.

Over 60 years later, that promise remains the foundation of every new home we build in our Bouctouche, NB facility today.

Our Team

If a better way exists it’s our job to make it happen.

Some would say that our modular manufacturing facility was not engineered to create a higher level of teamwork, but inevitably it does. There is no skipping the line – there’s no passing the buck – when we win, we win together. It means that we’re laser focused on how to improve every step of the way.

Our facility is roughly 150,000 sq ft in size. It houses a team of more than 100 crafts people and designers pulling together to create a home anyone would be proud to own. Our team is local, they grew up in our hometown, often they started working with us because a parent did.

From the students who train with us as part of the PAC Program to the members of Club 25 who’ve worked with our team for more than 25 years – we are all working together to create a space you’re excited to call home.

We partner with the Best Local Companies to build your dream home.
